Product Description With the Oregon Scientific BAR338PA ExactSet Projection Alarm Clock you can keep your pretty little head on the pillow in the morning. Just tap the snooze button & the clock will momentarily project the time on the wall or ceiling in soft red light. You can even rotate the projector forward 90 degrees if needed. And being an ExactSet clock, it automatically sets it's own time, day, & date via the US Atomic Clock in Boulder, Colorado. It automatically connects to the Atomic Clock 6 times a day via it's built-in radio receiver. It even adjusts for Daylight Savings Time & Leap Year. Day-of-week in one of 3 languages - English, French, Spanish Alarm - Crescendo Battery Type - 2 AAA
Amazon.com Review This versatile system forecasts local weather; automatically sets and updates the time, day, and date; keeps track of the indoor temperature; and employs a remote, wireless sensor to record the outdoor temperature up to 100 feet away. For forecasting weather within 12 to 24 hours, the 6-1/4-by-4-1/4-inch monitor employs a built-in electronic barometric-pressure sensor and then displays the upcoming weather with an icon (sunny, partly sunny, cloudy, rain/snow) on its backlit LCD screen. For keeping track of time, the monitor is equipped with a radio receiver tuned to the U.S. atomic clock; this enables the monitor to maintain split-second accuracy by automatically adjusting, if necessary, to the atomic clock's signals six times every 24 hours. From those signals, the monitor also displays the date, the day, and the time zone for which the user has set the clock. Also, the clock automatically adjusts for daylight saving time and for leap year. The monitor beams the time and the outdoor temperature onto a wall or ceiling in large, red numerals for easy readability. If the monitor is in battery-mode (four AA batteries included), pressing the clock's snooze bar will beam the data for five seconds. If the monitor is plugged into a wall socket with an AC adapter (included), the projection will be available either for five seconds with the snooze bar or continuously if a continuous-beam control is set. The projection beam comes from a device mounted next to the clock. The device pivots so the beam can be projected onto any surface, and a dial focuses the beam for clarity. You can also choose to have the temperature displayed in either Celsius or Fahrenheit. --Fred Brack

Really cool item! July 30, 2002 Craig Metz (New Jersey) 35 out of 35 found this review helpful
This is one of the best purchases I have made of recent memory. It is one of those gadgets that every person can appreciate. The projection gives you the unique advantage of seeing the time from anywhere in the room. The indiglo is also really cool, if the projection is off. This clock works off batteries (there is an ac adapter for the projector) so it is easy to take with you if you are traveling. I put the outdoor monitor in my window, and I can constantly tell what the temperture and upcoming weather is. The best part is, the clock is tuned into the atomic clock, and is constantly setting itself for accuracy. This little guy is also pretty tough, I have tripped over the cord for the AC adapter twice (I can't tell you how infuriating this is), knocking it hard to my hardwood floor. Its still kicking. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who appreciates a good gadget, I have loved it since I bought it.
Another great Oregon Scientific clock... November 18, 2003 Jay D. Anderson (Stafford, Virginia) 61 out of 67 found this review helpful
An atomic clock set by the RF sync signal coming out of Boulder, CO. Accuracy is unquestionable. A remote sensor transmits the outdoor temperator at 433 Mhz and that is projected onto the ceiling along with the time. Fantastic!! I can lay flat on my back and see the time anytime I open my eyes and the temperature too... that way I know exactly how to dress when I go out the door to work in the morning. Also the clock has barometer in it that tries to tell what the weather may be like in 12 to 24 hours... cloudy, party cloudy, sunny, snow, rain... I laughed at this feature but to my utter amazment it seems to be more accurate than the TV weather caster!! Get this clock... the quality is superb. The alarm is a quiet beep that grows louder and more persistent as you ignore it. The light in the face of the clock is a greenish-blue back lit LED screen and very pleasing in all respects... I am a hard customer to please and this clock pleases me!
Oregon Scientific Projection clock With weather forcaster July 19, 2001 41 out of 46 found this review helpful
I am impressed by the accuracy of the weather forcaster, since the clock itself decides what the forcast will be,without any help from the weather service. The only two things I was not completely satisfied with were: That I discovered it was made in china. And the projected image only displays the outside(remote sensor)temperature, not both.Neither are too big a deal, and wouldn,t have prevented me from buying and enjoying the clock. It is great to have a clock that sets itself, keeps great time, forcasts the weather, measures temp inside & out,and projects the time on ceiling or wall for easy viewing at night, without being too bright for sleeping. As you can probably see by now,I am happy with my purchase.
This clock has it all... November 25, 2001 T. Clarke (Houston, TX) 18 out of 19 found this review helpful
This alarm clock keeps atomic time, projects onto the ceiling, accurately predicts the weather forcast (using a barometer), gives indoor and outdoor temperature, has a memory feature that will tell you the high and low temperatures indoor and out, has a crecendo alarm (starts off soft and gets louder), is small enough not to take up much room on my night stand, plus it looks really cool! I haven't found any cons about this clock yet... I am very happy with this purchase! Kudos to Oregon Scientific for creating such an excellent product!
You will not be able to live without this one. December 25, 2006 Found the Truth (Florida United States) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
I have purchased at least a half dozen of these. I have one everywhere I regularly stay. I can't see my watch anymore without turning on the lights. This is the answer. The overhead laser displaying the temp and time will bug you for about a week, after that you will miss it, if it is not available. We even have one in our motorhome. Every friend who has seen this wants one, and I have sent many as gifts. One friend uses the separate thermometer in his house so that he can tell in the middle of the night if one of his children has tampered with the thermostat. Another takes his with him when ever he travels. My wife even likes this gadget and when we stay in hotels she complains that it is not available. Oh by the way the red laser display only works when the 110 volt power is available but when it is available the clock works off 110 volt and NOT the battery as some reviewers have suggested. The batteries last much longer than you would imagine. When you replace the batteries in the main unit or the exterior thermometer, you DO NEED to follow the directions about resetting or you will display erroneous data on your ceiling. The switching from Daylight saving time to Standard time is automatic.
