When a toddler first has the opportunity to eat a meal from the same surface as one's parents, the experience often imbues the young child with a great sense of achievement and importance. The significance is clear: the child has developed skills that he or she did not previously possess. Once the toddler achieves this dexterity, the baby high chair with its dinky tray no longer has a place at the dinner table. However, a toddler still requires a boost to reach the dinner plate, necessitating a tray-less high chair. Familiar from use in family restaurants around the world, this Lipper International wooden high chair offers toddlers a secure seat for tableside eating. Lipper designed the chair for children 1- to 3-1/2- years old, or up to 35 pounds in weight. Simple yet practical, the high chair aesthetically blends into many kitchen and dining room decors with ease. The high chair prevents tipping with its durable and weighty beech wood construction and a sturdy 19-1/2-by-21-inch base. The seat stands 20 inches from the floor, while the armrest dowel hovers 7 inches over the seat. A 9-inch high seatback with a broad wooden slat keeps the child sitting upright. A 3-point safety strap system secures the child with a lap belt, which threads through the crouch restraint. To reduce splinter potential, a non-toxic natural finish smoothes the wood surface. Subtly rounded corners also decrease the risk of injuries. Easy to clean, wipe the high chair down with a damp cloth. Use a mild soap on marks and dry immediately to prevent water damage. Upon delivery, the chair requires some assembly with tools. The Thailand-made chair also comes with cherry or pecan finishes. This is a wonderful product and my toddler loves it. We had the regular type high chair and she could not get up close to the table like the adults. Once we brought this product into the house, she refused to get into the high chair again. It comes with the safety belt that can lock the child into the seat. It also has a bar across the front that is just the right distance for our child to place her feet instead of them just dangling. The quality of the product is outstanding. I highly recommend this product.

I can't complain about this chair in any way. Our daughter feels comfortable in it (I base that on the fact that she sits there and eats and doesn't cry when we put her in) and it's not big or bulky so it fits nicely in our smaller kitchen space. I would definitely recommend this seat for kids who can sit up on their own and can feed themselves.

The chair is exactly what I wanted. It is well made for the money and the cost of the chair was very reasonable. I use it for my 2 year old granddaughter and it works out very well.

I prefer this chair to a traditional high chair with a tray because child can join us at the table. Some similarly designed chairs only have one vertical strap. The design of this chair seems better with an additional strap around the waist. Unlike other chairs we looked at for $200+, I would not trust a two year old to climb in and out of this chair without assistance, but the chair is certainly sturdy enough for them to sit and eat in it.

I bought this for my 18 month toddler boy. It was very reasonably priced and I am very happy with how sturdy it is. It was easy to put together. My son enjoys sitting at the dinner table with the rest of the family now.
